Ryan D. Tackla, M.D., graduated from Ohio University and received his medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.

He completed additional fellowship training in cerebrovascular and neuroendovascular surgery at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he also completed a surgical internship and neurosurgical residency.

During medical school, Dr. Tackla was a devoted member of the community. He participated in the Med Mentors Community Outreach Program. This is a cultural exchange program where medical students were able to provide mentorship to underprivileged youth.

He also held elected positions in the American Medical Student Association and the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Curriculum Biennium Committee.

Dr. Tackla's areas of special interest include:
     •  Endovascular and surgical treatment of intracranial aneurysms and arteriovenous malformations
     •  Revascularization for intracranial and cervical artery stenosis and stroke
     •  Microsurgical treatment of degenerative spine disease
     •  Surgical treatment of spinal column fracture and spinal instability
     •  Surgical treatment of brain and spinal tumors

Dr. Tackla has received specialized training in the use of the operative microscope during microneurosurgical cranial and spinal surgery, stereotactic cranial and spinal surgery using intraoperative neuronavigational systems, bi-planar fluoroscopy and digital subtraction angiography, microcatherterization of cerebral and spinal vasculature for endovascular intervention, the use of stereotactic radiotherapy and radiosurgery during treatment of CNS neoplastic disease, spinal instrumentation for cervical, thoracic and lumbar fixation and robotic-assisted diagnostic and interventional neuroangiography.

Dr. Tackla is a transitional member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons.
