Dr. Rodgers grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and attended Edison High School. After graduating from Edison in 1969, he went to the University of Tulsa, completing the medical school pre-requisites in 1972 and attended the University of Oklahoma Medical School in Oklahoma City between 1972 and 1976. He completed an internship and residency in neurosurgery in Oklahoma in June of 1981. Dr. Rodgers is trained in microspinal surgery, minimally invasive spinal surgery, endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery, and trained in frameless stereotaxic surgical techniques.
Dr. Rodgers was in a solo practice in Muskogee from 1981 through 1984 and partnered with another physician at the Muskogee practice from 1984 to 1989. He returned to Tulsa in 1989 and continued in private practice with a group of physicians.
Most recently, Dr. Rodgers has returned to a solo practice, focusing his practice on neurospinal care of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar areas. The scope of his work includes treating degenerative conditions, traumatic injury, instability of the spine with or without nerve, and spinal cord compression. Dr. Rodgers also evaluates and treats peripheral nerve problems including carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve dysfunction.
Dr. Rodgers is a member of many professional organizations including: American Medical Association, Oklahoma State Medical Association, Tulsa County Medical Society, Tulsa Surgical Society, Tulsa Neurosciences Association, Rocky Mountain Neurosurgical Society, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and American Board of Spine Surgeons.
Dr. Rodgers is married and has two sons, ages 19 and 23. He is an active member of the community. His wife, Alice, helps in the office as a part-time office manager. She is also active in donating her time to various philanthropic organizations in the community and state.
